Neutron 3 elements1/3/2024 I do feel like that there are some modules in Neutron/Ozone that wont be easy to understand until you know the basics so thats my main motivation to why I havent upgraded yet. Modulation FX: Understading what it does: 7/10, how/when to use it: 6/10ĭistortion: Understading what it does: 6/10, how/when to use it: 5/10Īnd i have noticed that my ears are gradually getting used to all the tools as all I do with my spare time is music production releated but I still have lots to learn. Reverb: Understading what it does: 7/10, how/when to use it: 6/10 This one is actually tje hardest to grasp. Im at the compression stage as I feel I know how to use an EQ.Ĭompression: Understading what it does: 7/10, how/when to use it: 5/10. (Edit: the TLDR version is - no, in your position I'd say the upgrade is not worth the money, you'd be better off investing the time in learning the free/stock plugins! And I say this as a user, and big fan of Izotope products) And while learning to be an absolute master mixer is a lifetime journey - a few hours a week devoted to specifically learning what these tools are and how they work will make a difference really quickly. It's a journey to build this knowledge, but its a fun and useful one. Then get into some tutorials about mixing and mastering groups of instruments and full tracks.Īfter all that, things like Neutron and Ozone become different tools - you know what all the modules do, and you'll have a sense of what tweaks you need to make, based on understanding the metering, plus having the knowledge and experience rather than guesswork. This will get your ears used to how these effect work, and you'll learn some theory about why they work in the process. Don't need any of the fancy plugins to master these - stock is fine. Start with using them on single tracks of audio. Follow some youtube tutorials on the basics of:Įq, compression, reverb, delay, modulation fx & distortion. I'd say to learn the basics of mixing with stock plugins first.
